Dave Cohn is Aldersgate’s New Director – Welcome Dave and Laura

photoDave Cohn has taken over as Aldersgate’s only 2nd Camp Director following Lee Padgett who served as the first Camp Director for 24 years.  Lee followed Art Logue who was the camp’s first full time Camp Manager and who served for almost 17 years.

Dave and his wife Laura come from Old Fort, North Carolina where Dave has served as director of Camp Grier for the last 8 years.  Dave and Laura have 2 dogs named Blue and Cletus.  They love the out of doors and are looking forward to their time at Aldersgate.

Aldersgate Prayer Requests

God continues to bless Aldersgate Camp abundantly, year after year.  It is only through prayer that we are able to continue growing.  This page will update you on what’s happening at camp so you can better support this ministry through your prayers.      

Please pray for the life changing ministry of Aldersgate.   Pray for financial blessings in 2013.

Aldersgate Staff:

Please continue to keep the year round staff here at Aldersgate in your prayers.  Pray for Dave and Laura, our new directors.  Pray for Lee as he transitions to new areas of ministry.  Pray that God will continue to guide our decisions and bless us with the energy that we all need to fulfill His work.

Retreat Season:

Continue to pray for an increase in numbers and great experiences at Aldersgate for our guests and retreat groups.

Summer Camp:

Please pray for our summer camp 2013, our campers and our volunteer deans and counselors.  Pray that God will continue to amaze the staff and campers during the summer months next year.

IMG_2646Words can not even begin to express my gratitude for 24 years of memories.  My family and I have been blessed beyond description by all the people of Aldersgate.  Thank You Aldersgate for the opportunity to serve God in such a rewarding way.  Thank you God for the opportunity to serve you in such a wonderful place.  May God continue to bless Aldersgate Camp.

Pass the Torch Retreat – a Great Success.

The ‘Pass the Torch’ Retreat was a big success. About 40 persons participated. Core Values of Aldersgate were defined. Traditions of Aldersgate that support those Core Values were named. Dave and Laura had a chance to introduce themselves and share some dreams for the future. Everyone laughed, reminisced and worshiped together. At the end of worship, Lee passed the camp keys to Dave.  It is now in the hands of all Aldersgate Alumni to help with this transition and to support Dave.  Aldersgate is in good hands.

Youth Discipleship Retreat 2013

Youth Discipleship Retreat is a ready made weekend retreat for youth groups.  Whether your group is 2, 22, or 102 persons… we provide: speaker, worship band, activities, food and awesome place – you provide the students for a great retreat!  If you are looking for more community for your group to grow and develop this year – sign up and bring them to YDR.

$75/person gets you:

  • Two nights lodging,
  • 4 meals (Sat breakfast – Sun breakfast),
  • 4 Springboard Sessions,
  • 4 Youth Group/Family Group times,
  • Saturday Afternoon Team Building Activities,
