Aldersgate Ministry Impact
We are Excited to Share an Update
We miss you so much. We miss hearing you splash down by the creek. We miss serving you a second helping of cheesy bread. We miss listening to your voices rise in joint song and praise to our Lord. We long to welcome you home to Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center.
Our God calls us to serve in this world, and right now our world is challenging us to think creatively about connecting, worshiping, and ministering. At Aldersgate, we have answered that call by offering fun experiences and discipleship opportunities online.
What began as a two-week experiment following the closing of schools across the state, bloomed into a six-week Virtual Day Camp program. Drawing on the talents of scores of volunteers, Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center produced 63 videos. Ranging from sing-a-longs to craft times to Bible studies to wiggle sessions, we posted these videos to Facebook and have currently amassed 48,995 views. Bless the Lord!
Thinking about our teenage youth in particular, we rallied with some clergy and youth leader volunteers to offer our annual Youth Discipleship Retreat (YDR) online also. Currently, those three sessions have totaled 1,720 views. God is moving!
Our ministry does look different. But even while away from Aldersgate, our mutual love for this place and our shared love of Jesus connects us. Our creative ministry offerings will continue throughout the summer season. We will host a week of Virtual Summer Camp and will soon be able to welcome family retreat groups and RV guests. We will continue to post updates about these services on social media and our website.
We thank you for the prayers you have offered us. We thank you for watching and sharing our virtual sessions. Please know we continue to work hard to answer the Lord’s call to be a light in this world. If Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center is an important ministry to you, please make a donation today. Your gift will help sustain us until we can again welcome retreat guests and campers.
May the Lord bless and keep you. We will keep the cheesy bread at the ready and very soon – we will Welcome you Home.
